Last week my mother tried to grill steaks outside. It was 10 degrees with a 20 mile per hour wind. In our desperation to rekindle the memories and good times of a summer cookout we jumped the gun a little and cooked too soon. The coals got super hot and then died out too quickly. The meat didn’t cook evenly and it had to be finished inside. It was the best cookout we’d ever had, but it gave us an excuse to gather and we still had good food.
